Nod32, from ESET is a standout Antivirus package.

It is one of the few anti-virus programs that has the ability to recognise and block unseen variants of a virus.
The following describes how to remove other antivirus programs and install Nod32. Sure you can just use default settings, but for a polished and unobtrusive setup you should perform the steps below.
Get Your License
First obtain your Nod32 license keys from your reseller/supplier. They will be in the following format and are case sensitive.
User Name: AV-1234567
Password: 1xw2zy3ab4
You will need to remove all previous antivirus software, download the
new nod32 and install.
Remove Old Antivirus software and reboot
If you were using VET you can remove it by going to the start menu ,
Vet anti-virus, Uninstall or by going to Windows control panel,
selecting add/remove software and selecting VET Antivirus for complete
removal.
If you were using Norton's follow the procedure above but remove all
Symantec related software, such as LiveUpdate and LiveReg components
which are linked to Norton.
IMPORTANT: If you are unable to remove your current Anti Virus Software, ask for help, DO NOT attempt to install NOD.
Close all programs and Reboot your PC
Download Nod32 from the website.
Download the appropriate Nod32 Installation file and save it on your desktop:
For Windows98 http://www.eset.com/download/balance.php?dir=/download/win/v2st/nd98enst.exe
For WindowsXP http://www.eset.com/download/balance.php?dir=/download/win/v2st/ndntenst.exe
Note: You will need your username and password to do this.

and click the appropriate version for your system (Single PC Version)
After removing other antivirus software, rebooting and downloading nod32
you can install it.
Install Nod32
People who have downloaded NOD from the Internet, double-click the
downloaded nd98enst or ndntenst that is now on your desktop ( or
wherever you saved it )
Select "extract"
Windows 98 users may be asked to install a new "MFC Library" , go ahead
and say "yes".

Select the "Advanced" installation, click "next"

Accept the License Agreement, click "next"

Next screen is "Setup of Automatic Update" enter the Username and

Password we gave you earlier, click "next"

Next screen is "Internet Connection" - Select "I don't know if a proxy server is used. I want to use the

same settings as internet explorer" click "next"

Next screen is "Automatic Update" - Click Change. - Select "Perform Program Update if Available" and click "OK".

Click "next".

Next Screen "General Setup" - click "next".

Next Screen "ThreatSense.Net Early Warning System" - Untick "Enable ThreatSense.net Early warning System" - click "next".

Next Screen "File System Monitor" - click "next".

Next Screen "On Demand Scanner integration" - click "next".

Next Screen "Microsoft Office Documnet Protection (DMON)" - click "next".

Next Screen "Internet Monitor (IMON)" - click "next".

Next Screen "Internet Monitor" - Click the checkbox "No Notification" and click "next".

Next Screen "HTTP Checking (IMON)" - click "next".

Next Screen "Email Monitor for Microsoft Outlook (EMON)" - click "next".

Next Screen "Setup Configuration Complete" - click "next".

Finally, click "Finish" and allow the system to reboot
Scan you PC
Log onto your PC, you should see a small icon bottom right like this:
Click on this icon will open NOD32 to the desktop,
Click on NOD32 and click "Local" to scan your system
After the scan, select "Hide" and the NOD panels will minimise to the system tray.
Congratulations!!!!
Now forget about it until its time to renew (1 or 2 years, whichever you bought).
