Top 10 IT priorities for ANZ firms in 2012 - How do you compare?
ZDNet have just released an interesting piece of research on IT priorities for Australian businesses called "The IT Services, Support & Management priorities of IT leaders and professionals in Australia and New Zealand."
A quick look at the slide below tells the story for 2011 and 2012. Mobile devices and access to company information "on the go," is the major focus area. Over 45% of organisations will have a tablet device strategy by the end of 2012, almost 55% will be making using of mobile applications and almost 58% of firms will be using web applications.

The implications for IT departments who have to manage this brave new world, master the skills to build, maintain and manage such an environment are significant. Some of the long list of challenges are:
- Creating one version of the truth in emails, calendar invites, contacts etc.
- Revoking access
- Adding and removing users
- Securing network traffic
If you dont have a plan to master these areas you are putting the organisations information at some significant level of risk.
We have written a short article called "Mobile Madness: Rise of the Machines", which discusses these challenges in some more detail. Please feel free to download it, we hope you enjoy it and find it valuable.
So how does your organisation compare to these IT priorities listed in the report. Do you have a similar list or are you focusing on other priorities? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
